What is the Japanese TELEC Certification?
The Japanese Radio Act requires model approval(i.e. technical compliance certification) for designated radio equipment. TELEC certification is mandatory. TELEC Engineering Center, a registered certification body recognized by the MIC in the designated range of radio equipment, is the main registered certification body for Japanese radio equipment conformity certification. TELEC is also called MIC certification in Japan. TELEC is one of the designated licensing agencies for MIC, so it is collectively referred to as TELEC certification.
TELEC Certification Standard
The technical standards for TELEC certification can be found in the classification and technical standards of designated radio equipment listed in the technical compliance certification system on its official website. It is worth noting that when these technical standards differ from the technical requirements of the Radio Regulations Rules No. 18, the Radio Regulations prevail.
TELEC Certification Type
TELEC certification includes Test Authentication and Type Authentication. Test authentication is for each device unit verification, this authentication only for each verified device unit;
Type certification refers to the verification of samples of a batch of equipment that is also designed and manufactured. This certification is valid for the batch of equipment, but if the design or manufacture of the equipment has changed, the equipment will need to be re-certified.
It is worth noting that the use of non-low-power radio stations and their terminal equipment requires a license from the MIC.
In addition, there are two types of compliance certification for telecommunications terminal equipment:
For ordinary telephone devices, JATE certification is required as required by the Telecommunications Act;
For wireless terminal equipment, in addition to the JATE certification required by the telecommunications business law, TELEC certification is also required according to the radio law requirements.

TELEC certification for WLAN, Bluetouth products
TELEC is a mandatory certification for wireless products in Japan, which is somewhat similar to the domestic SRRC. It follows the Japanese wave method. The specific test specification is in accordance with the MIC(Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) Note No. 88 regulations. See below. The update and maintenance of the Http://www.tele.soumu.go.jp/j/material/test.htm test specification is also carried out by MIC.
WiFi and Bluetoth products have basically different test programs than European and American standards.
Of these, 2.4 GHz WiFi products(802.11 b/g, 2412-2472 MHz) and Bluetoth products use the standard of MIC Note No. 88 Annex 43, However, for the 14 channel(Channel 14:2471-2497 MHz) of 2.4 GHz WiFi products, Annexus 44 needs to be used alone for testing and reporting, and the corresponding fees need to be increased.
The test standard followed for 5 GHz WiFi products(802.11 a, 5180 ~ 5320 MHz, W52 Band and W53 Band) is Annexus 45, but it should be noted that the data shows that MIC will modify Annexus 45 in the near future. The 5.6 GHz device(Band W56) is also classified as Annex45, and there are stricter DFS test requirements for the Band 56 frequency band.
All the above specifications are traced back to Annex 1, so you also need to pay attention to the contents of Annex 1 when you refer to the above standards.
