CEC Energy Efficiency Test Introduction
CEC is the abbreviation of the California Energy-Commis-sion's. Its responsibility is to make the energy market develop in the direction of benign competition. The California Energy Efficiency Regule-ation, which the organization launched in 1976, is the only mandatory energy conservation law in the United States that can affect non-governmental fee cancellation behavior and plays an important role in reducing energy consumption.
The regulations, which require electrical products to meet equipment energy efficiency regulations when they are sold in California, set out energy efficiency standards, measurement methods and phased plans for 58 types of electrical products. According to the regulations, electrical products must be tested by a qualified laboratory in accordance with the corresponding regulations or standards in the United States and prove that they meet the requirements before they can be sold in California.

CEC Test Scope and Methods
The 58 types of products sold in California require CEC product energy efficiency certification, mainly for home appliances, power supplies, lamps(ballasts or energy-saving lamps). The sales of 58 types of electronic and electrical products in California require CEC energy efficiency certification. The regulations are specifically divided into energy efficiency indicator requirements, measurement methods, and phased implementation plans.
CEC Certification Data Preparation
(a) Product name: provide the full name of the product;
(b) Product type: detailing all product types, varieties or classification numbers that require experimentation;
(c) The intended use of the product: e.g. home, office, factory, coal mine, ship, etc.;
(d) Spare parts list: detailing the parts and model numbers(classification numbers), ratings, manufacturer's names of the components and, for insulating materials, the names of the raw materials.
(E) Electrical performance: for electrical and electronic products, power supply schematics(circuit diagrams), electrical performance tables;
(f) Structural charts: for most products, a structural or explosive chart of the product, composition table, etc., is required;
(g) Photographs of the product, instructions for use, security, etc., or instructions for installation.
Power CEC Certification Notes
This energy bill has special requirements for the performance of switching power supplies. It has two levels of "III" and "IV", that is, third and fourth grades. It requires higher power consumption and overall efficiency for switching power supplies.:
The implementation of the power supply device is divided into two phases:
The first phase will be implemented from July 1, 2007. Level III requirements(applicable to 2007-7-1 to 2008-7-1):
Minimum energy efficiency value of nameplate output
0 ~ 1W0 .49 * nameplate rated output
1 ~ 49W0 .09Ln nameplate rated output +0.49
≥ 49W 0.84
Maximum lost power consumption
0 ~ 10W0 .5 W
10 ~ 250W 0.75W
