GCF Certification Concept
GCF is an abbreviation of Global Corporation Forum. The Chinese translation is a global certification forum and is an international organization. Its members consist of 142 operators, 33 terminal manufacturers, test institutions and test equipment suppliers. The GCF organization coordinated the testing standards for mobile phone consistency and defined the test system used to ensure that mobile phones meet the network deployment. At the same time, all member operators agreed with this test system. In other words, GCF recognition means that all member operators recognize the phone and no additional tests are required in the future.
At the same time, GCF also recognizes test cases and test systems. The purpose of the GCF is to ensure the global interoperability of the terminal through an independent authentication process, namely: "Ted Once, Acceed by All". GCF plays a very important role in 3G consistency testing. This is because 3GPP has only developed relevant test specifications and organizations have prepared unified test cases, but it does not provide for when to conduct consistency tests, how to conduct consistency tests, and what the test standards are. The GCF took on this part of the work. GCF set a series of milestones for consistency testing, developed test cases, planned platform certification processes, and terminal product certification registration processes.
However, GCF does not engage in any tests, but is handed over to a third-party testing agency(such as Huaco Testing) for testing. The GCF GSM/UTRA working group, the application development working group, the field survey working group, and the Ad-Ho working group meet every three months to approve the test results. Test cases and test systems will be recognized at the same time. When the industry's test cases and test systems meet the various milestones of the GCF, the industry's consistency testing of terminal equipment really begins.
GCF recognition means that all GCF operator members agree. GCF's requirements for WCDMA terminal authentication tests require WCDMA terminal authentication tests. Terminal vendors must first clarify what features and features the terminal supports to form an option table, and then on the basis of the 3GPP core standard, The option list determines which GCF CC test standard, purpose, and method should be selected, and forms a test requirement table. At the same time, according to the list of options and the 3GPP test standard, the laboratory will develop a consistency assessment table to reflect the degree of consistency between the terminal and the corresponding test standard; Of course, the focus of the evaluation is on the corresponding test method and test purpose.
