Export of low-voltage electrical appliances to Saudi Arabia with GCTS logo
Recently, the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Authority(SASO) made it clear that mandatory certification products within the Gulf region's low-voltage electrical equipment and supplies regulations and toy regulations must meet the regulatory requirements and be affixed with GSO Qualified Retrospective Marking(GSO). That is, GCTS logo) can be sold to Saudi Arabia. From now on, Saudi CoC compliance certification bodies will no longer issue CoC certificates for products that do not meet the requirements, and the products will not be cleared successfully in Saudi Arabia. From July 1, 2016, technical regulations for some low-voltage electrical equipment and supplies in the Gulf countries will enforce the GCTS identification certification requirements. After the implementation of the regulations, the Gulf Standardization Organization(GSO) member states must locally manufacture or import low-voltage electrical equipment and supplies in the country's market to meet the safety and electromagnetic compatibility EMC requirements listed in the technical regulations, and attach the GCTS logo. Among them, 13 specific categories of electrical products(Table 2) are included in the scope of compulsory certification and must obtain a type certification certificate issued by the authorized agency designated by the GSO;

Use of GCTS logo: 1) The logo should be pasted on the product body, the outer packaging of the product, and the accompanying documents(such as user instructions). 2) The minimum size requirement is shown in the figure:

3) The logo should be clearly readable and not easily removed; 4) The logo should meet the requirements of the regulations and should not be falsified.
